Indiana Health Industry Forum
Economic Development and Value Driven-Healthcare

This collaboration with the Indiana Health Industry Forum resulted in a white paper on the impact of health care reform on local economies, and how economic developers might work with the health care community to promote sustainable and accessible health care delivery systems.  Prompted by impending health care reform during the first year of Obama’s administration, this project set out to address issues of cost, quality, and health care coverage at the local level.  The central conclusion to our findings is the urgent need to reconcile national and local objectives when it comes to health care spending.  As the economy slowly inches out of recession, the health care debate will almost certainly continue to stand center stage, with communities and the health care professional caught in the middle of a battle between cost containment and access to quality care.
